“Gerryt de Hont” worked between 1520 and 1547 as the cantor in churches in Delft, Bruges and Hertogenbosch, after which time we lose all trace of him. This unknown master composed five masses, each one being based on motets by contemporaries. The Missa Caeciliam cantate pii recorded here is based on a motet by Nicholas Gombert. Furthermore, we only know eight French chansons and one song in Dutch by Gheerkin
