The songs of the Llibre Vermell of Montserrat are amongst the finest collective works that have survived from the Middle Ages. They constitute exceptional evidence of the meeting and of the fusion of the sacred and the profane, of learned art and folk tradition: they also give proof of the intelligence and tolerance that infused certain religious communities, finally demonstrating that dancing was still a perfectly normal activity, practiced in the heart of the church at that time.

In this realisation by the Millenarium ensemble, the pilgrims (the Namur Chamber Choir) are greeted by the monks (Psallentes) and the choirboys (Les Pastoureaux) of the Abbey. Their songs blend with the sounds of the various instruments that lead them into the dance.
