This CD features a selection of the many forms of the Muslim call to prayer. The words are always the same but on each track the melody follows one of the many musical scales (maqam) and reflects the emotional expression of the chanter, the muezzin. Pneuma have created an imaginary itinerary starting with the origins of the practice of the call to prayer, presenting the chant against different backgrounds of sound linked to the mosques. From a camp fire in the desert night in Orient, to the cities by the sea and the great capitals of Muslim culture and the mosques surrounded by gardens in the palaces of al-Andalus.

This is also a tribute to the Giralda tower in Seville.
