Santiago Lanchares’ (b.1952) reputation is firmly established in the front line of Spanish contemporary music. During his career, he has received commissions from many artistic institutions and his music has been performed frequently at virtually all the noted Spanish festivals. His music tends unabashedly towards melody and in the mid-nineties his music evolved towards an eminently rhythmic orientation, focusing on compositions for the piano.
