Jadin was the last of a family of musicians who flourished at the Court of Versailles, and had the doubtful privilege of living through the vicissitudes of the French Revolution. His musical career effectively ended in 1830 (the year of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique), and his now elegant, now passionate music seems to reflect the uncertain times. This CD, performed by two talented young French soloists, is the first of two volumes which will contain world première recordings of all Jadin's works for flute and keyboard
