Abdesadaq Cheqara was a maestro of Andalusían music and a violin virtuoso. After finishing his education with several experts and maestros, and receiving different prizes as violinist, he toured the world representing Andalusi music. In the early 60’s Cheqara embarked on his career as a composer and participated in the recording of eight of the eleven nawbahs of Andalusi music. Together with Gregorio Paniagua he recorded the Anthology of Spanish Early Music which introduced him into the world of early Western music. This volume gathers together the highlights of his vast production which covers not only nawhabs but traditional music from Morocco and his own compositions, some of them can be categorized as the first ever foray into Tetuan traditional music and flamenco.
